Top Kid Purchases This Month - July

Compiling these lists really makes me notice how much I’ve purchased recently, whoops… Moving on! In month six of quarantine, I’m finally making a few additions to my sensory bin supply stockpile and introduce a few items that will help me during preschool homeschool this fall. Here’s everything I bought:

Top Kid-Related Purchases This Month

Big Preschool ABC - I’m not too concerned with official “learning” at this point, but my three year-old loved the first letter tracing book I got her so much that we decided to add this one to her collection. It’s a pretty thick book which is great as she tears through several pages at a time.

Pottery Barn Elsie Daybed - We finally transitioned out of a toddler bed! We decided on this super chic light pink daybed because due to the placement in her room the daybed makes it look more pulled together and not like a floating bed in the middle of everything. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite toddler sheets/blankets/duvet covers on Thursday. Also if you can, try to hold off until you can use a 20% off coupon. I was able to get the discount and it seems like they offer them pretty often.

Activity Trays - Why did I not buy these a year ago?! They are so awesome you should all hurry up and “add to cart” and make your life (and clean up) easier. It’s the perfect catch all for any kid activity from Playdough to kinetic sand to beads, etc.

Kinetic Sand Bake Shoppe Set - This was an impulse purchase when we decided to stay at my in-laws so much longer than originally planned and needed a few new toys to entertain us. We’ve always loved kinetic sand but this little kit keeps my daughter occupied for so long that I’ve actually purchased it as a gift since then.

Battery Powered Train Set - Full disclosure - trains are always the last toy I go for. I’m really not sure why I just really dislike playing with trains but this battery-powered car has turned my attitude around. It makes it way more fun to have a train pulled around so if actually feels rewarding when you build inclines and tunnels and crazy curves.

Magnetic Letter Board - I’ve had this in my Amazon cart for at least a year and it finally felt like the right time to buy it. It’s perfect for the car and a quick activity at the table while I’m cooking/cleaning/surfing the internet.

Walker Goods Lil Louie Sling - If you saw my July purchases post last week, you know that I bought my first fanny pack this month and obviously I needed my little mini me to match me! Oddly enough, this is now our third mention of fanny packs in the last week. Check out this great post from Stephanie at Compose Co all about her love of the fanny pack.

Lego Storage Box - I’m pretty excited about this storage box! Since my little one is still in the Duplo phase it doesn’t fit nearly as many as it would if we used Lego (which I’ve learned is the proper pluralization from the TV show “Lego Master”), but I love the color, it fits under my daughter’s new bed and I can store one giant play set of Duplos in it.

Plastic Tree Set and Flexible Dino Set - I’m pretty excited about these new additions for our sensory bins, especially the rubbery dinos. I don’t think I read the description of the dinos before purchasing so I assumed they were small hard plastic figures but they are actually a little larger than the typical figurine and they’re soft and rubbery like stress balls so I love squishing them while we play. I think that sentence has catapulted me to peek Mom status.

Happy shopping!
