New Products I’m Loving Right Now

Right before the “safer at home” order was announced I made a quick trip to pick up a new product I’d had my eye on. I’ve been a huge fan of the Ilia brand ever since Stephanie G-M raved about them during our green makeup swap video and their newest product has been on my list since I first saw an Instagram pic of it. The Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint Mineral SPF 40 is so, so good I really can’t recommend it highly enough. I have never worn foundation (and had no clue what color to buy) but I am trying to be wear SPF (preferably mineral) everyday . That’s where this new product comes in! It has super light coverage, enough to cover up some of my remaining melasma spots from pregnancy, but light enough that it doesn’t feel or look like I have anything on. My one suggestion is if you’re a makeup dummy like me, go into a store (whenever that’s allowed) to test the colors. I ended up buying a shade that I would have thought was too dark for me based on the shade finder.

My other new products are from by Humankind. I’ve mentioned this before, but in addition to trying to use as many green products as I can (not taking into account that at this given moment I would bathe in Lysol if I could) I’ve also been trying to cut down on plastic. It seemed like a no brainer to switch to bar soap and refillable deodorant. I found by Humankind on Instagram and was instantly drawn to their branding which led me to their website. Not only do they make natural deodorant that is refillable, but you can also purchase a soap dish or deodorant container along with the refills if you need one. So far I’m a big fan of both products. I got the coconut deodorant and I’ve been using it for around a week and I’m happy to report it works well for me. I also love the simple soap dish and the grapefruit-scented soap I ordered. I definitely plan on continuing to use them and will order refills when I need them.
