The Best Books for Kids Starting School

The Best Books for Kids Starting School

A new school year is beginning which means many kids are heading back to the classroom and going through some big transitions. Here are some of our favorite books to help kids get excited for the new year and ease any nerves.

The Kissing Hand - This book is a classic that is on all preschools suggested reading lists. When little raccoon is about to begin school he tells his mom how nervous she is. She gives him a kiss on the hand so he can always feel safe and loved.

Under the Love Umbrella - Very similar to The Kissing Hand, this book teaches kids that they can always rely on love to help them get through any challenges they face.

The Magical Yet - One of my absolute favorite kids books. It tells the story of a little girl struggling to ride her bike. But instead of giving up, she finds her “magical yet” which is a fairylike creature that helps her to keep trying.

The Wonderful Things You Will Be - Help your kid start dreaming of all the amazing things they can be when they grow up!

I Love You All Day Long - A book to help reassure your little ones that you will indeed love them all day long, even when you’re not together.

All the Ways to Be Smart - This beautifully illustrated book is full of bright colors and detailed pictures celebrating all the unique and diverse ways kids can be smart.

Happy reading!
