Now That You're A Mother by Victoria O'Flahavan

Now That You're A Mother is a series that started by honoring Mother’s Day, but so many amazing answers poured in that we’re continuing on. Today we have writer, producer and mama, Victoria O’Flahavan, sharing her thoughts on the past, present, and future of her experience with motherhood.

1) What does your kid(s) call you? i.e. Mom, mama, mommy etc.

I’m mainly Mama and occasionally mommy and mom and once in a while…. Victoria!

2) What’s something that you said you’d never do (pre-kids) that you do now?

I said I would never do theme parks with kids because the whole experience seems like an ordeal. However I have taken my kids to one since! lol

3) Has your perspective of your own mom or parental figure changed?

I’ve definitely gained more respect for my mom. She worked two jobs at one point of us growing up and she always had meals for us- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She’s definitely super woman, super human status!!!!

4) What’s something your kids did that you’ll never forget?

I used to take my first born to Barnes and Nobles and sit on the floor and read books with him- and I do that for my younger ones now. There was this one time where I wanted to read a magazine while he looked at his own books we got for him. So I said, “Ok honey, can Mommy read this first and then I’ll read yours afterwards?” And my son responded, “What about your third eye mommy?” I dropped what I was reading and used my third eye to read his.

5) What is one hope you have for your kid(s) in the future?

I wish them to have fulfilling lives. Lives that they themselves can look back on and say, “Wow, I did this life right!”

6) It’s 20 years into the future - what is your kid doing right now?

Pursuing their passion and in their purpose!
