My Review of Under Canvas Zion
Hi everyone, greetings from the road! If you’ve been following you know that I’m making my second trek across the country to Michigan. In October we made the drive in 3 days (with our 3 year old!) but this time we’re taking a different route and spreading it out over a few more days.
Our first stop was in Zion, Utah at the Under Canvas glamping site. I’ll be the first to admit it was a ridiculous splurge but I figured after a year of little travel it would be fun to celebrate by doing something totally memorable.
I initially found Under Canvas, a chain of glamping sites, on Instagram and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The Zion location is located far off the highway in a remote locale surrounded by the beautiful rocky plateaus. When you first arrive at Under Canvas you’re greated with cooling towels (thank god because it was 106 degrees out), ice water and the nicest staff ever.
We stayed in tent 44 and it was a perfect setup. We opted for the deluxe suite because we wanted a private bathroom and a pullout couch for our 4 year old. In the end we didn’t use the pullout couch and our daughter slept in our bed instead (the pullout was not comfortable at all and the nature noises were startling to our city girl lol) so if we were to stay again I might just do a deluxe tent instead of a suite to save a few bucks.
The tent itself was very comfortable. Thankfully they had misters inside the tent to cool us down from the insane heat and the bed was comfortable. Since it is glamping don’t expect AC but they did have fans in addition to the misters.
We absolutely loved our tent and it was only rivaled by the amazing communal dinner/hang out space and fire pits. This location has an onsite location serving simple food and alcohol and we sat outside and listened to the performer who was great.A bunch of the kids ran around and played together which was amazing for our daughter since she’s an only child and loves meeting new kids.
We ended the night with one of the complimentary s’mores kits which we enjoyed by the fire pit in our section of the campgrounds. We hung out with a cool family with three kids and I loved the easy family friendly vibe this whole place had.
Overall this was a huge success and I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a unqiue travel experience.
Happy travels!
Callie
