*I’m slightly embarrassed I don’t have a better image but little one demolished the dish right away. Such is life.
It takes a lot to get me out to the Valley but when I saw that The Joint, a fast-casual seafood concept in Sherman Oaks, got a shout out by The New York Times, I knew I had to make the trip out.
Vibes: There are 3 different food services being offered in this large space; a coffee shop, a seafood restaurant and a seafood market. You can come here and work on a laptop while you sip on a latte or you can enjoy a meal. Talk about a way to use up the space!
The interior is modern and industrial. I love the wood benches, which I read were all made with reclaimed lumber.
All of the staff were friendly with my kiddo and there were other kids there as well. She ran around a bit (it happens!) and I was never given a judgey look.
Kids Menu: No kids menu here. The staff recommended I order off the sides menu but I prefer to share with my little one, so I order an appetizer to split.
Order: We split the Pinhead Anchovy Toast, topped with scrambled eggs. While I loved the whole dish, M picked all of the toppings off and just wanted the toast. Some days, she just wants carbs.
Price: $12, not including tax and tip
Highchairs: Yes! Very clean highchairs are offered.
Changing Table: No changing table here, plan diapers in advanced.
Stroller Access: There is room for a stroller here, single or double wide, you’re safe.
Parking: Ventura Blvd is a hectic street, so I recommend parking on a residential street nearby and walking over.
Bonus: My lunch friend and I also split the Seared Scallops. OMG you guys, I could bathe in the ponzu butter it came with. I’m ordering 2 next time.
Rating: 5 Spoons - Maybe I could’ve docked them for not offering a changing table but I’m dying to go back soon, so I’m giving them the honor of a full 5 spoons.
