Highchair LA Reviews: New School of Cooking
CULVER CITY
8690 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232
The New School of Cooking is a Culinary Arts Diploma Program with locations in Culver City and Pasadena. Both campuses offer a cafe for students to work in and gain experience in the restaurant industry.
I have popped into this cafe a few times for a cup of coffee on my own but have never taken my little one in for a meal. It’s a great spot for an easy bite during the week but sadly, closed on weekends.
Vibes: There’s a lot of laptops out here, lots of freelancers getting work done. If your kiddo tends to be a little noisier, I’d recommend sitting in the corner table to your right when you first enter. The workerbees tend to sit further away from that spot, so you’ll be less likely to get any glares.
Kids menu: There is no designated kids menu - no problem. Let’s share!
Order: When it comes to my daughter, get the Soft Scramble, you can’t go wrong with scrambled eggs, avocado and toast! Although I would’ve preferred she have multi-grain bread, a little sourdough every now and then won’t hurt. And obviously she loved it cause mom only got a few bites in.
Price: $10 (not including tax + tip)
Highchairs: The buckle was broken on the highchair I was given. I didn’t actually notice until the end of the meal, luckily nothing went wrong. But I hope that’ll be fixed soon.
Changing Table: Nope! Plan ahead on diapers.
Stroller Access: There is plenty of room for a stroller here.
Parking: There’s metered parking right out front but there’s also plenty of street parking on both Helms Ave and Caroline Ave.
Bonus: They offer cooking classes for kids! Check out their website for more info.
Rating: 4.5/5 Spoons - I’m only docking a half point hoping the highchair buckle will be fixed.
