It’s time for bread!

If you need a place to take your kiddo and meet up with an LA food scene-obsessed friend, Lodge Bread is a past James Beard Award nominee and local family favorite. Not only are you in the clear to bring your kid, your foodie pal will delight in every bite.

Lodge Bread specializes in whole-grain sourdough that is hard and crunchy but soft and chewy at the same time. It’s pure magic. The pizzas here are also air-thin but covered in fresh, delicious toppings. Pair that with coffees by Bicycle Coffee Company and you cannot go wrong. I know, I’m gushing over this place but I really hope you all add it to your lists!

Vibes: This is a very chill spot and it is fast-casual service. There are high top counters for adults and lower tables for families. Everyone here is very sweet with kids.

Kids Menu: No kids menu so be prepared to share. There are so many items kids can eat here, like the pizzas and sandwiches but I ordered the Almond Butter Toast, topped with a dash of sea salt and local raw honey.

I know some of you are reading this and thinking “you could’ve just made that at home” but the freshness and skill in every bit here makes it worth it. This is a substantial item, so she only ate half, cut into little pieces. An older, hungrier kid might eat the whole thing.

Price: $7, not including tax and tip

Highchairs: Yes, we have awesome, red highchairs here.

Changing Table: They don’t have one yet but they say they’re working on it.

Stroller Access: Not a whole lot of stroller room here. If you have a double wide, stay outside.

Parking: It’s typical LA street parking, meaning there’s metered parking out front and residential nearby.

Bonus: I love going to places where it’s not an open kitchen, but there’s glass so you can see your food being prepped. Marie loved watching avocados get smashed and breads get sliced.
