Tips on How to Stay Organized and Motivated as a Mother Working From Home

We recently connected with a cool resource for parents working from home and they graciously shared some some downloadable printables with us to help you get organized and motivated. Enjoy!

One of the most difficult jobs in the world is being a stay at home mother. What is even more difficult is working as a stay at home mom. The number of stay at home working moms has grown considerably over the past several years. Mostly because of technology’s ability to allow employees to work remotely or in various locations outside the office.

The number of professionals working from home world-wide grew exponentially in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.  For instance, in March of 2020 88% of organizations worldwide encouraged their employees to either work remotely or from home.

With so many mothers working at home with their children, the difficulties that these moms face balancing work and child-rearing duties has become even more glaring. According to BBC, “a disproportionate share of the burden is still falling on women.” To help counteract this disproportionate burden, below are ways working moms can stay organized and motivated.

How to Stay Organized

Staying organized at work is a challenge. It is even more difficult if you are tasked with assisting the education of your children in several subjects, making daily lunches, and keeping both your children and yourself centered throughout the day. To help you stay organized, use the printable below, and follow these steps.

Get Excited

List two things you are excited about. These can be anything, but make sure they’re about you. They can be excitement about reading the next chapter in your book or binge-watching a series post-work. They can also be work-related; such as getting excited about working on a different project or with an exciting team member.

Focus and Declare

Now, write down your focus and declaration. Your focus should be something attainable for the day. For instance, you can focus on staying positive or calm throughout the workday. Your declaration should be geared towards self-help and growth. They should be positive and an exclamation of what you want to achieve that day.

Prioritize

Finally, write down today’s priorities from most-to-least pressing. These priorities can be a mix of work objectives or goals and personal tasks. It’s up to you how you organize your priorities, just make sure they’re doable in one day.
