Pregnancy Diaries: Moving Homes While Pregnant (And My Moving Checklist)
Like a few people I know, my little family decided to move out of LA (and our two bedroom apt) into a house (with a yard!) just south of San Marino. We moved on Halloween and I joked with friends that it was the scariest thing I could’ve done on Halloween… deciding to move ourselves and our lives when I was on the cusp of 37 weeks pregnant.
Being that I was in my 3rd trimester, I was reminded to take things slow and keep stress to a minimum. Since I live off of my ‘notes’ on my iPhone, I made a daily packing checklist with a small area to pack daily, beginning with the areas of least traffic, spread out over two weeks. And then I made a moving check list that I shared in notes with my husband that was super helpful. I am sharing it below in case you find yourself amidst a move and in full blown nesting mode. So how did the move go? Well, five days after with the help of in-laws, we had our home completely ready, organized and unpacked. Moving when pregnant is not impossible but definitely requires a slower pace, rests and lots of water:
