Highchair LA Reviews: Pink Orchid

Pink Orchid

1927 Westwood Blvd

Los Angeles, CA 90025

The moment you enter Pink Orchid (a Persian bakery that opened on Westwood Blvd in 2002) you get an instant sugar rush. This quaint cafe has a seemingly endless supply of desserts and pastries in multiple glass cases, ready for your little one to get their hands all over. Not today kiddo!

Vibes: This Middle Eastern café is packed full of friendly locals who adored little M. This is the kind of place your toddler gets their cheeks pinched by strangers at. I wasn’t offered crayons/coloring paper or any toys to distract her, so be sure to pack a toy or two, just to be safe.

Kids menu: There is no designated kids menu, so I decided to share my adult-sized meal with her.

Let’s just say this was a very #mombrain moment for me…I wanted my little piglet to get some protein and veggies, so I ordered the Cauliflower Omelette.

I completely spaced out on the fact that my kiddo doesn’t even like the traditional white cauliflower. I was only ever able to get her to enjoy steamed purple cauliflower mash and florets. She instantly rejected the omelette the second she laid eyes on it. Boo!

Since my little one loves her carbs, if there’s bread on the plate, she only has eyes for it. So M ate mostly bread, a bit of the feta cheese and left the omelette for me.

Hey, at least it was a multigrain bread, fresh baked and so delicious.

Price: $9.99 - includes omelette, 2 slices of mild feta cheese, 2 large slices of multi-grain bread and a large coffee. (Sweet deal for parents!)

Highchairs: The highchairs here seemed to be a little sticky and the belt was knotted for some reason? They could use a little extra help here.

Changing Table: No changing table, get the potty situation figured out first.

Stroller Access: There is plenty of room for a stroller here and the counter was easy to access.

Parking: The metered parking on Westwood Blvd can get packed at lunch time. There’s a lot of 2 hour parking on the streets Midvale Ave and Kelton Ave.

Bonus: Pink Orchid specializes in Khachapuri, which is a Georgian pizza-stye dish, with cheese in the middle and a crust which is ripped off and used to dip in the cheese. This is a fun treat for older tots and adults.

Rating: 4.5/5 Spoons - I only docked a half a point, because of the sticky highchair. It’s not their fault I ordered something she wasn’t into.
