Mama Loves To... Craft Chose Your Own Adventure Monsters
Lately, I’ve been having days where I feel all over the place. My need for a schedule gives me anxiety on days when nothing is actually planned. This feeling stuck with me. I know how to thrive with a plan, but need to learn to be okay when there's no clear path.
With the help of my wonderful husband and sweet little girl, I decided to grab a pile of random fabric and see where it took me creatively. I ended up in a silly place of magic and monsters! To develop the look of the monsters, I asked a series of simple questions and went from there. For fabric, I used older clothes that we hadn’t been ready to part with, leftover felt, and scraps from other past projects. The first little monster was actually just a version of a face my daughter drew on the chalkboard. We have named him "Happy."
Here’s some examples of questions you can ask:
1. What shape do you love?
2. How does this monster feel?
3. What is your favorite color?
The best part: No rules! You can hot glue the entire thing together. Or don't. Sew it. Duct tape. It's whatever you feel like in the moment.
Yes, it was really that basic and it turned out pretty awesome.
