A Postpartum Planning Guide Every Expecting Parent Needs
We’re big fans of Dara Whitaker, founder of the growing podcast: The Sleep Sessions. Through Dara’s many conversations with new parents, she kept hearing a consistent theme that the majority of families spend more time preparing for birth than they do for postpartum, leading to on-the-fly, sleep deprived decision making after bringing their baby home. She couldn’t help but think that this could be one of the reasons so many of us feel lost, anxious, and unconfident in our roles as parents.
In an effort to reverse this trend, Dara launched the Postpartum Thrive Guide – a planning workbook to support families through the fourth trimester and beyond. This guide is meant to help families navigate what they’d like life to look like after bringing home a new baby in hopes of making the postpartum period a little bit easier for everyone. Through suggestions and open ended questions, it is a great conversation starter to make sure everyone is on the same page and gives partners the support needed to discuss & research important topics before the baby arrives.
The 12-page guide is an editable PDF document that can be filled in digitally to be referenced from anywhere, at any time. The Postpartum Thrive Guide covers things such as helpful resources, visitors, physical recovery, feeding, sleep, parental leave, childcare, and self-care.
