Visiting the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar

Have you ever heard of the Wildlife Learning Center in Slymar? Located just a short hop, skip and jump from LA in the San Fernando Valley, the Wildlife Learning Center is a small zoological parks for displaced animals. They currently house over 100 animals that were displaced, injured or needed to be re-homed.

We first visited the Wildlife Center when I was pregnant and had the greatest experience. At that point you could pay a general admission fee to walk through the small facilities and then pay for additional add on experiences like meeting their sloth, feeding their giraffe, etc. We opted to pet the fennec fox and armadillo.

Now fast forward a few years, we decided to make a special trip with our family and my in-laws for a special Mother’s Day outing. While they do currently have limited general admission hours, we opted to do a special private guided tour. We spent 90 minutes with one of their amazing employees who taught us all about their animals and we had the chance to feed porcupines, a giraffe, pet a sloth, feed tortoises, pet a snake and more. We had the greatest tome and highly recommend the experience! They have several different private tour and general admission options to fit into everyone’s budget.

Hope you all check it out and let us know what you think!
