2019 Gift Guide - Best Gifts for Toddlers

2019 Gift Guide - Best Gifts for Toddlers

Since I have a toddler, this is basically a list of everything I would love to buy my daughter (if money grew on trees and I wasn't worried about spoiling her). Some of these items I do plan on getting her this year while some others we already own or my daughter has logged plenty of time playing with at other people's houses.

1. Loog Guitar - This super cool guitar was a Kickstarter project and is a simpler, smaller and more manageable guitar for little kids to learn on. Plus it tunes like a standard 6-string guitar instead of the funky tuning you'll find on a ukulele. The design will appeal to any parent that want their kids to be cooler than they are (myself included).

2. Magformers - Magna Tiles definitely has the market share in terms of magnetic blocks, but after playing with these at a restaurant, I'm totally sold. Also they are a lot cheaper than Magna Tiles which is a big win in my book.

3. Karaoke Bluetooth Microphone - Little toddler voices amplified while singing songs from "Frozen"? SIGN. ME. UP!

4. Candylab Food Trucks - I have been obsessed with this company since they first Kickstartered their way into my heart and quickly became my go-to gift for birthday kids. These newly released food trucks are adorable and totally appropriate for my little Angeleno who is already well-versed in food truck fair. We picked up the donut truck recently (pro tip from Christianne - if you go to the Peterson Museum in LA make sure to check out the gift shop She told me it was great and it does not disappoint.) and the quality is great. My daughter loves playing with her first food truck so we're planning to add to her collection.

5. Way To Play Track - This has been on my list of items to buy since it came out last year. The flat, rubber tracks are a solid alternative to the traditional wooden tracks. They take up less storage room and all different size toy cars can be used.

6. Animal Tattly Tin - If your kids are anything like my daughter, they are obsessed with temporary tattoos. Tattly is on the pricey side but the quality is really high and each tin comes with its own little sponge for easy application as well as tattoo remover wipes.

7. Melissa & Doug Wooden Blocks - You can't go wrong with these sturdy, iconic blocks. We've had this set for around a year and we still play with them every day. The set also comes with a convenient storage tray for minimal clutter.

8. Plan Toys Dentist Kit - Kids love to play pretend. I have a similar version of the dentist kit and not only does my daughter love it, but its carrying case makes it easy to take on trips or to restaurants.

9. Ooly Art Kit - We're huge fans of Ooly. Over the last year or two we've been given multiple sets of Ooly crayons and they never disappoint. This art kit would be perfect for any art-loving kiddos.

10. PlanToys Dollhouse - Dollhouses can feel like a big commitment. They take up quite a bit of room in your house and they aren't easy to hide away, but lucky for you there is a dollhouse for everyone. Here are some of our favorites - this super minimal and compact one, this farmhouse one from Target, and this green dollhouse from Plan Toys complete with a pretend solar panel and wind turbine (so chic and responsible!).

11. Banwood Balance Bike - This is another item that's been on my list for the last year. It's expensive but oh so cute. Here's another very affordable option that I've also heard really positive things about.

Happy shopping!
