The Ultimate Sticker Round Up
I am an expert at everything sticker-related. I’m not even going to try and hide it, because I’ve purchased them all (literally). My 3yr old has been a sticker fanatic for as long as I can remember and she can easily entertain herself for an hour with a good sticker book. And who am I to deny her this simple pleasure which allows me somewhat uninterrupted work time! So after two years of purchasing and playing with what feels like dozens and dozens of different sticker brands, here are my top three favorite sticker books.
Usborne - The Usborne sticker books are the gold standard of sticker books, at least in my opinion. Here are a few of my favorite features: perforated sticker pages make it extremely easy to rip out and match up to the correct pages, the stickers are also very easy to peel off because they are high quality and not too small which is a huge plus if you have a younger kid or your kid is working on them independently in the car, for example. My daughter loves the Little Sticker Dolly collection because she likes being able to put clothes on the dolls but they have dozens of other variations for all types of interests (dolls, bugs, vehicles, holiday, etc). They have two different size books and I highly suggest purchasing directly from the Usborne website as it’s most cost effective (they are more expensive on Amazon).
Melissa & Doug Puffy Stickers - Another staple in our house, these stickers are perfect for multiple uses. The sticker books can be purchased individually or in packs of three and include themes like mermaids, construction vehicles, safari, etc. Each book comes with one sheet of reusable puffy stickers that can be placed anywhere on the scenes. The best part of these books is they’re easy for kids to use independently and they are truly reusable (many “reusable” stickers really are not). Pro tip: when your kid finishes playing with them you can remove the stickers and put them back on the sticker sheet. If you want to be super anal about it (like I am) hold the sticker sheet up to the light and then you can see a slight outline of the stickers and put them all back in their original places. This allows you to present “new” sticker books multiple times and really stretch your dollar.
Disney Princess Ultimate Sticker Collection - The Ultimate Sticker Collection series is perfect if you’re looking for a sticker book that takes a lot of time to complete. This series comes in many different themes and major franchises like Princesses, Frozen, Marvel, etc. The most important part with these is to make sure you buy the 1000 sticker book, not the 100. If you get the 100 sticker option you’ll be done in 15-minutes. Each page features a theme or question (ex: princesses special skills) and then has an outlined shape of the character. You then flip to the back and find the correct sticker. These books are great for working together with your kid, but there are a few limitations to these books. First, younger kids cannot do these independently. Each page has quite a bit of text and requires matching stickers to descriptions. Also although you can rip the stickers pages out, they aren’t perforated which is a little annoying and may result in some torn sticker character arms or legs. Overall we really love these books and they are great for working on together over the course of a few hours (or here and there across a few afternoons).
If you get through all of these sticker books and you’re still looking for more, here are two runner ups. I have purchased these multiple times, mostly to shake it up and not use the same stickers over (and over and over) again.
Colorform Picture Sets - There are tons of different colorform sets, which according to my husband are a throwback to our youth although I don’t recall ever seeing them. They are reusable stickers that come in a hard cardboard box with play scenes. I find that they lose their stickiness fairly quickly so while I do plan to buy the care bears version I likely won’t buy more than that.
Melissa & Doug Reusable Stickers - When my daughter was around two these sticker sets occupied her for hours. She sometimes placed the reusable stickers on the scenes and other times stuck them to her closet door or the windows. I think maybe we used them for so long I’ve become sick of them but they are popular for a reason and I still recommend, especially for younger toddlers.
Happy stickering!
