Tell us your story! We’d love to hear a little bit about yourself, your family, brand and mission.
Hello everyone! My name is John. I'm a fun loving, always out and about father and husband. When I'm not out with the family, I'm a medic in the Air Force, currently stationed in San Antonio! I created "The Dad Bod Strong" about 5 years ago in hopes to inspire dads to break the stigma of dads being out of shape just because we have kids. Our kids should be the reason we want to be more healthy and strong. Our kids pay more attention to our actions than our words, so I believe in setting the tone and being the example daily. It's easier to build strong kids than fix broken adults.
It’s obvious you love being a dad! What are some things you’ve learned along the way that make you a present father?
Great question, I've learned so much over the years as a father. The main thing I've realized is that life isn't forever so cherish every moment you have to create memories with your kids so they will remember you forever and pass on those memories to their kids. For my parents that have watched "Coco" a million times, I don't want to be left off of the ofrenda, haha! It's crazy, I had so many things I wanted to do in 2020 but the Coronavirus has made me thankful for the many things I have/done. All in all, I've learned to live in the moment and make the most of it, make it count!
What are your favorite things/activities/places to go with your kids during pandemic?
Honestly our favorite thing right now is riding bikes, The kids love riding! My 5 year old just ditched the training wheels about 4 days ago! I was beyond excited for him! He caught on so quick I couldn't believe it, I plan to take them on a few of the bike trails around San Antonio and Austin. Lady Bird Lake in Austin is a beautiful trail!
What are your and your kids favorite books on your bookshelf right now?
Pete the Cat and Groovy Joe are everywhere! They're really catchy books and easy for them to read. I often catch myself using some of the phrases when talking to grown ups haha.
Describe fatherhood in one sentence.
The nerves of being a new father will disappear once you hold what you help create in your hands.
And finally, where can we find you?
