Best Dollhouse Furniture Roundup - Part One
I’m about to type a sentence my younger, pre-child self would cringe at… you ready? Here are my top picks for dollhouse furniture!
Seriously, if that isn’t full blown Mom status I don’t know what is. But honestly, I’m so excited to get my daughter’s dollhouse all set up in time for her third birthday. My grandfather built it for my sister which was then passed on to me and my parents held on to it for all of these years so now I get to pass it on to my little one. I have painstakingly researched dollhouse furniture in hopes of making the house of my dreams. I mean “of my daughters dreams,” of course.
So here are a few things I’ve learned while conducting my crazily extensive research. The first is that cute dollhouse furniture does exist, but having said that, some of the cutest dollhouse furniture I found was on Etsy and after ordering a couple pieces I learned there is a huge differrence between mass-produced products and hand-made “miniature” pieces. While the miniatures I’ve seen on Etsy are beautiful and modern, they are definitely not built to withstand toddler force so I decided I had to carve out some criteria for my search.
The first is it can’t be crazy expensive or hard to find. I fell in love with a set from a company called Sebra but it’s not available in the US and I’m not willing to spend gazillions of dollars on shipping. The second is that it must be high-quality and able to be thrown/crushed/whatever the toddler behavior of the day is.
Today I’m sharing my picks for bathroom, kids room, nursery and parents room. There are sets sold on Amazon that have all rooms included but I didn’t find any that I loved so instead I’m buying all rooms individually.
Next week I’ll share my picks for kitchen, living room, dining room and outside. Last note, all the furniture below works for a 1:12 size dollhouse size (if you don’t know what that means yet make sure to measure your dollhouse).
