The Pregnancy Diaries: #InstaWorthy Newborn Hospital Outfits & 2nd Trimester Update

Hey mamas & papas,

A quick update on my pregnancy before we dive into the cuteness that is newborn outfits. I’m 21 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy and it hits me… pelvic girdle pain - 1 in 5 women get it. What can I say, I’m just that lucky. It’s a pain/discomforting instability in my pelvic joints, lower back, hips and upper legs. I think I’ll be experiencing this through the rest of my pregnancy but thankfully with the help of daily yoga, my amazing chiropractor in LA and my midwife, who suggested I start wearing a maternity belt and begin acupuncture, I’m feeling much more mobile again. If you’re experiencing this kind of pain, pregnant or not, here’s a good video with exercises I’ve also been doing. Now enough of that… on to more important (and cuter) things.

On our way to the beach. Stopped at In & Out, of course.

I’ve put together a baby registry for a future virtual baby shower/sprinkle I’ll be having with my cousin’s wife (you can read her post here about being a pregnant nurse during this pandemic). I don’t need nearly as much stuff this time around but hey, if people want to get me a handsfree Willow Pump, why wouldn’t I say yes?! In my deep dive on all things new baby, I started with clothes. I wanted to get baby girl #2 a cool #InstaWorthy outfit. I didn’t do that with Mia. In fact, I didn’t buy anything smaller than 3 months. And since this baby is going to be swimming in a sea of hand-me-downs (that have been handed down from Callie because she’s the best), I figured why not get her a special ‘welcome to the world’ outfit to snap pics in at the hospital.
