On The Road - When Plans Change

Road Trip With Toddler - MiLOWE

Over the last few months I’ve been sharing my plans for a cross country adventure in my brand new trailer. Well… sometimes things don’t end up working out exactly as planned. Long story short, due to covid delays, our trailer won’t be here for a while longer, which was a huge disappointment to say the least. But if 2020 has taught me anything, it’s that we have very little control over many aspects of life right now and it’s best to just roll with the punches.

I say that now, but rest assured, I cried and dwelled first. In the past I would have just continued to dwell and try to figure out what I could do to change the outcome, but in these weird times I decided to instead come up with an alternate plan instead of just canceling everything. There was literally nothing that I could do to change the situation so instead of cruising across the country in our cute little trailer, we’d have to drive and stay in hotels which is exactly what I had been hoping to avoid.

So what’s the point of this post? Maybe it’s just to say that yes, 2020 largely sucks, and most things seem to be going wrong, but maybe one silver lining in the year is that we’ve all had to learn to be more flexible. I can say now that I’m on the other side of the situation, it all ended well even though it was totally different than I had planned on it being. So next time something doesn’t go your way, maybe you’ll find a good alternative too.
