This holiday season will certainly feel more stressful and anxiety-driven than previous due to our current circumstances being so different from what we are all accustomed to.

And with change always comes along this energy of fear and that energy of fear can show up as anxiety.

How can we navigate these feelings when they arise?

The first step is by being aware of when these feelings are coming to the surface and being able to identify it as anxiety.

Below are a few ways that anxiety shows up in your body.

  • Tears

  • Feeling sick as if you need to run to the toilet

  • Muscle Tension

  • Heart Rate Up

  • Feeling sick as if you are going to vomit

  • Headache

  • Sound Sensitivity

  • Wanting to run away immediately

Now once you have identified your symptoms as anxiety. Which again I will state is perfectly normal to have especially around the holidays during a pandemic. You need to show yourself and/or your child compassion.

  • Stop whatever you are doing and if you can, go outside to get some fresh air. Deep inhales through your nose and deep exhales releasing everything you have through your mouth. Continue until your heart rate begins to follow the beat of your breath.

  • Drink something warm and decaffeinated to fill your body and sooth your soul.

  • Put some soothing sound alchemy or music that again will follow the slow rhythmic beat of your breath.

  • Ask for a hug or supportive embrace from your loved ones if that feels right for you.

  • Give yourself as much of a break needed.

Although it feels like there is so much that we cannot control during these times there is also so much that we can control in our little family bubble and that is where your energy should go towards. Use this time to make a new and magical holiday season with new family traditions or by bringing back some old childhood ones you cherished.

Let us set the intention for ALL to have an infinite abundance of love and light during this holiday season!
