A Few Things For Preschool Jitters

A Few Things For Preschool Jitters

Our first day of preschool is coming and I may or may not be more nervous than my daughter. I can’t believe how time has flown since she went to daycare. Ever since March of the pandemic, she’s been with us at home every day so it will be difficult to have mornings without her.

I have a few things I am gifting her and putting in her backpack to commemorate the new school year. Hopefully, it’ll help keep her (and I) feeling calm.

  1. Lucky Red Bracelets: A red bracelet worn on the left wrist is a symbol of luck and protection in many cultures. This pack has three adjustable bracelets for parents and kids.

  2. Photo Album: I’ve printed some pictures of our family which I’ll be leaving in her cubby at school in case she misses us and needs a break from the classroom.

  3. A Calming Selenite Heart/Palm Stone: She loves her crystals — when she’s having a tantrum she knows to go grab one to hold by her chest. She even grabs a special stone or crystal when her baby sister is having a particularly bad cry.

  4. A New Backpack: This was a special birthday gift from my mom but 12” is the perfect size for her - it fits this adorable bento lunchbox, a change of clothes and our favorite Thermos water bottle.
