A Weekend Away in Pine Mountain Club, CA

For my husbands birthday last weekend I decided to plan a surprise weekend away. I didn’t have a set destination in mind I just knew I wanted to find a beautiful house that would be fun to lounge around in and I stumbled on the greatest house in Pine Mountain Club, so obviously I wanted to share with you guys!

We had never been to Pine Mountain Club before (in fact, I don’t even think I had heard of it before) but it’s the perfect spot for a quick and easy getaway from LA. It’s around 90 miles north of LA up the 5 and was a super easy drive. Even in Friday afternoon traffic it only took us 2 hours to get there.

Once we there we pretty much just hung out at the house and took advantage of the reading nooks, the record collection, multiple decks, the screening room and of course the sauna. Because the state parks were all closed we didn’t do any hiking (which is one of the big draws of the area) but we did explore the town a little bit. There is a cute little park and playground and a handful of restaurants and shops. Really the location is meant for relaxing off the grid and escaping the hustle and bustle of the most touristy mountain towns.
